![]() ![]() While Kemp’s actions easily catapulted him to the top of the “worst elected officials” rankings, he is not without competition. ![]() On the flip side you have people like Georgia governor Brian Kemp, who confessed to having no idea, as of April, how the virus is transmitted and announced earlier this week that starting Friday, he’ll be reopening his state’s bowling alleys, nail salons, gyms, and barbershops, among other apparently “essential” businesses. Governors Andrew Cuomo, Gavin Newsom, and Gretchen Whitmer, for example, have been hailed for their responses to COVID-19, which have involved listening to experts, instituting strict measures to slow the spread of the disease, and urging caution in the face of immense pressure when it comes to loosening things up down the road. One of the byproducts of the coronavirus crisis in America is that it has quickly showed us which politicians actually have what it takes to lead during an emergency and which ones should be barred from public office and from reproducing.
